Poor oh little, little girl
don´t say you weren´t aware
Should have never messed you up
with strangers of that kind.
Doesn´t father always say
you´re to be a queen.
Poor oh little Temple Dark
guess what will he say.
Covered up in bruise and dust
aching to survive.
Side by side, no questions made
with the man who broke your life.
Party dresses, glam and cheers
won´t be there for you.
Have you even ever dreamt
the future you have lost?
“Won´t run out, not this time
forever will he burn”.
Seem so sure they´ll hunt him down
blood boils through their veins.
Not a movement, not a word.
Stays him pretty calm
but lookin´ deep down these darkened eyes
forgive me if I doubt.
Poor oh little little girl
don´t say you weren´t aware.
Should have never messed you up
with strangers of that kind.
Doesn´t father always say
you´re to be a queen.
Poor oh little Temple Dark
guess what will he say

Heart For Hire
06:47
|
|||
Livin´ life her mother did
may well keep her fed and warm
Please them all the way required
as did her sister
Happens that since only a kid
swore she would not die in there
Flesh and bones built up on dreams
can´t be hold long
She wasn´t more than just a heart for hire
happens that she dreamt another life
She wasn´t more than just a heart for hire
happens that she just got tired and ran
On the day she made her mind
grabbed few things and chased her dream
Headed far and further went
as far as she could
Met her once, as time has passed
not very proud the way she looked
Took me while to recognize
the child in her eyes
She wasn´t more than just a heart for hire
happens that she dreamt another life
She wasn´t more than just a heart for hire
happens that she just got tired and ran
She had chased her dream, as far as could
fell exhausted in the end
I bet she tried the best of her
What else could her?
She´s done dreaming, she´s far too tired
accepted then the way things go
heart for hire, as always was
she ain´t going nowhere
She wasn´t more than just a heart for hire
happens that she dreamt another life
She wasn´t more than just a heart for hire
happens that she just got tired and ran

Dead Man Walkin'
06:17
|
|||
Dead man walkin´ through the door
Ain´t outside what he leaves behind
a month or so, he was told
not much to say, not used to pray
wretched faces seen around
yours to keep, I want them no more
Who you wanna spend your last shot with
but the kindness of a stranger?
Much have been said about
far from true when you´re the one
full emotions kept within
just a hollow hard to fill
believe me boy, I have to say
it ain´t really such a thing
Who you wanna spend you last shot with
but the kindness of a stranger?
Dead man walkin´
Not the closest ones you know
not even the one who cares
I´ll rather have another drink
sinkin´ into stranger´s eyes
perfumed liquor suits me well
takes me where they cannot reach
Who you wanna spend your last shot with
but the kindness of a stranger?
What´s up to come, I can´t deny
seeds of doubt, they grow inside
but then again, stranger´s eyes
they make me warm, they make me calm
Dead man walkin'
Dead man walkin' (through the door)
Dead man walkin' (he was told)
Dead man walkin' (much to say)
Dead man walkin' (one who cares)

Pleading Town
06:29
|
|||
Born around the pleading town
saddest place I´ve heard
never knew his dad for sure
met his mother few
Hope´s the sort of thought
got not used to hold
born around the pleading town
what else could you expect?
Got in trouble on and on
knew no other way
learnt so fast, when he was twelve
got himself a gun
Little was to expect
of this fellow´s luck
but sometimes some stories
ain´t yet written down
Pleading town
Forged him hard
Expect no warmth
From his hand
Then one day his luck did change
as he picked his strings for good
someone saw him down the streets
and guessed good money on him
So the story is told
he became a star
ran the streets he fought so hard
on his brand new luxury car
He pledged himself not to forget
no matter what he does
but did as quick as you could guess
noone is to blame
Born around the pleading town
saddest place I´ve heard
so little was to expect
of this fellow´s luck
Pleading town
Forged him hard
Expect no warmth
From his hand

Brother Sal
04:35
|
|||
Brother Sal´s last journey ever
starts on a common day
something breaks inside this fellow
so deep it has no name
Wife and kids no more than shadows
from a weird and distant world
left them soon behind on that day
as he walked into the rain
Dogs and night from then close partners
more than any were
they listen up for now and ever
while he blows his song
He bet it all he had on that night
right on Fortune´s wheel
he expected not a thing
He bet it all he had, yes he did
he felt he ought the night
wasn´t kinnda right?
Wind blows above his shoulders, oh yeah
cold strikes his back
doesn´t seem to know this morning
as he walked into the rain
“I wasn´t always noone, you know”
does he seem to say
(but) not further word he spoke this morning
in fact he never did
Once he had a name, a face
a place to rest him dead
not so long ago, believe me
but he misses none of it
He bet it all he had on that night
right on Fortune´s wheel
he expected not a thing
He bet it all he had, yes he did
he felt he ought the night
wasn´t kinnda right?

Sinnerman
03:18
|
|||
Oh sinnerman, where you gonna run to?
Along that day, run into the mountains
Look sinnerman, the mountains will not hide you
Run to the sea, but the sea won´t have you either
Run to your grave, your grave it won´t hold you
Oh sinnerman, the rivers they are boilin´
Look sinnerman, the sea shore how it rages
Up to the hills, the mountains they are crumblin´
All along that day
(Oh sinnerman)
Ask to the rock, beg you, won´t you hide me?
But the rock cried out “it ain´t gonna happen”
So sinnerman, where you gonna run to?
All along that day
(Oh sinnerman)
(traditional)

Shine & Burn
05:18
|
|||
Returned at home one night
college has just ended
he was supposed to be a man
felt nothing but a child
Father stared at him
with that look he knew so well
“Son, we are so proud
don´t you ever dissapoint”
Mamma kept so quiet
she didn´t even look
I guess she felt some doubts
about her mamma´s only son
So embrazed new life,
the one he did not ask
pretty far from plan
of only shine and burn
Did it good at job,
raised a kid or two,
pretend even to be
a better husband too
Gave his best time, sure,
got not much in return
It felt pretty clear from start
how the story ends
COLD AS WAS THE NIGHT
RETURNED AT HOME THAT DAY
DRUNK AS HE COULD BE
SEEKIN´ SOME REPAIR
FOUND HIS OLD MAN GLANCE
DARKENED THROUGH THE TIME
ABLE NOT TO KNOW
WHOM HE STARED AT THEN
MAMMA´S IN THE ROOM
QUIET AS SHE USED TO
BUT I´LL GUESS, THE WAY SHE LOOKED,
SHE FULLY UNDERSTOOD
So when trial did come
DA looked him hard
“Why the hell you did
such an awful thing”
“I wish I could just tell,
I wish I could just know,
this life I did not fit,
It´s all I´m up to say”
Now spends his days locked up,
dressed in orange suit,
holding like a child
his dream of shine and burn

For Miles
04:54
|

FOR MILES
I’ll follow you blind
Don’t know where we’ll end
Got nothin’ but dirt
Can’t get worse than hell
We don’t need no road
We’ll know when we’re there
Some comfort, some rest
And I can carry you myself
For miles and for years
They can’t save us again
This search will go on
For miles and for years
Forget all (of) your friends
We should honor our foes
We have nothing else
They will miss us both
I’ll follow you blind
Don’t care where we’ve been
Fire, earthquake and flood
You reap what you sow
For miles and for years
They can’t save us again
This search will go on
For miles and years

Sunset Hotel
05:32
|
|||
Time when light has almost gone
another day resists to leave, afraid of what night brings
Relief from the burdom of his lies
is what he desires the most, at time he knocks the door
“I forgive you, son” he said
and words have chased him ´round, every night ahead
Far has travelled since that day
but old man´s final words, resound inside his head
In the sunset hotel lots have found their rest
Those whose sun have set, they salute from the upper floor
Nice place to stop, if you´ve reached a dead end road
Invitation to forget, as soon as you knock the door
Shakes and cold return as night
everytime yet the same, aches like the first
Stayin´ this side of the road
seems pretty pointless effort most, from one who has long crossed
“I forgive you, son” he said
gentle words he lastly said, for such an unfair world
Held his head for such a while
long enough to expect for sure, neither peace nor mercy rest
In the sunset hotel lots have found their rest
Those whose sun have set, they salute from the upper floor
Ain´t bad place to stop, if you are so lack of hope
Many more shall come, just like you and me
